Back to Alexandria

A place for curiosity to grow.

Alexandria is a digital library being built for parents to share with their children: human-authored knowledge, thoughtful boundaries, and space to discover something worth knowing.

The freedom to explore, with clearer boundaries

Children should have room to ask questions and follow their interests. Parents should be able to offer that freedom without every article becoming a doorway to an unfamiliar website. Alexandria is being built as a walled-garden library: readers search and explore a selected collection, and article reading stays inside it, without outbound links into the open web.

This is an online library with a defined boundary around its reading experience. It does not filter the rest of the internet or control what children open in other apps.

Human knowledge, with sources you can see

Our collection policy excludes AI-generated articles and summaries. We select human-authored works from verified public-domain and permitted Creative Commons sources, preserving attribution so families can understand where a work came from. Our vision includes educational articles, classic literature, and historical archives.

Trust takes more than a source label. Human-authored works can contain mistakes or outdated ideas, and permission to share a work does not make it suitable for every child. Our review approach treats rights, educational quality, and age suitability as separate questions. We are developing those standards as we build the collection.

Their curiosity sets the pace

Alexandria has no social feeds, personalized engagement algorithms, short-video loops, or infinite scrolling. Search begins with what a child wants to know. Reading gives them room to stay with an idea, follow another question, or close the library when they are finished.

The quiet of a library

No advertising, sponsored results, or behavioral tracking. We want to bring the calm of a traditional library to a digital space: easy to search, comfortable to read, and free from commercial distractions competing for a child's attention.

Building carefully, one collection at a time

Alexandria is still in development. We are starting with animal knowledge and building the collection, review standards, and family features before opening the early access library. Our ambition is broad; the public experience today is a waitlist, not a finished children's library.

If this is the kind of place you want your children to explore, we would love to keep you posted.
