A search engine inside a library
Alexandria is a browser for a carefully selected library of human-authored knowledge. Kids can search as they want, research a question, and move among the available resources—all in one place.
The freedom of a browser. Safer boundaries.
Search results and articles stay inside Alexandria. There are no algorithms pushing the next distraction, no reels or social media, no targeted ads, and no article links leading children toward scams, adult websites, or other unreviewed content.
Why we are building Alexandria for families
Room to wander
Kids can search freely within a collection selected for young readers. Articles open and stay inside Alexandria, without outbound links carrying them into unreviewed parts of the web.
Human knowledge
Alexandria brings together human-authored information already published on the internet. We select works from verified public-domain and permitted Creative Commons sources, exclude AI-generated articles and summaries, and show families where each resource came from.
Curiosity without pressure
No recommendation algorithms, reels, social media, or infinite scrolling. Children decide what to search, follow their own interests through the available resources, and choose when they are done.
Peaceful by design
No targeted ads, sponsored results, direct messages, or links to adult websites and scams. Alexandria narrows exploration to a curated collection, reducing the open-web risks families should not have to navigate during everyday learning.
A library for everyday curiosity
From a school project to a sudden fascination with animals, kids can search the collection in their own words and choose where their curiosity goes next.
Selected educational articles and, over time, classic books and historical archives come together in one searchable collection made for independent exploration.
A defined collection gives families clearer boundaries than the open web. Every resource must pass separate source-rights and age-suitability review before it belongs in the children’s library.
